Emergency Room

We now have had our first emergency room visit with B. After playing inside Mommy and B went outside to watch Daddy mow the lawn. Mommy noticed that B was gagging on something as well as chewing on something. Mommy and Daddy checked her mouth but there didn't seem to be anything there. We kept an eye on her and she just kept chewing with an occasional gag. Mommy looked at the toys she had been playing with and realized that a "press here" sticker was missing on one of her stuffed animals. We figured she must have the sticker caught in her mouth/throat. Daddy called the emergency room and was put on hold! After waiting for a while he hung up and called CDH's emergency room. They suggested we bring her in. So we headed in. At this point she had stopped chewing as much and gagging. When we got to CDH they got us registered and in a few minutes we saw the doctor. She checked in B's mouth and sure enough the sticker was stuck on her soft palet. The doctor got two other people to help her and within minutes the sticker was out! B then received the treat of apple juice. :) B did so well and charmed everyone there. As we were going to the hospital Mommy wondered if we really needed to go since B had stopped chewing/gagging, but now Mommy is so glad we went in. Who knows what could have happened - Mommy's not going to think about it. :) Once again, we were very impressed with CDH. From the phone call to leaving, everyone was very helpful and kind. We even had other nurses coming into our room at the emergency room just to see how B was doing.
